Patients at Crosshouse Hospital Children’s Unit had the pleasure of half an hour of nonsense, chat and even a specially composed song from Dr Hoot & Dr Maybee as they chatted with volunteer presenter Scott O’Hare on his lunchtime radio show.
Topics covered ranged from who was the smartest Clowndoctor – Dr Maybee of course – to what was their favourite food. Dr Hoot had Scott hiding his lunch when she said she loved everyone’s leftovers and pinched them when no one was looking.
Dr Maybee has been a Clowndoctor for seven years and is keeping a check on Dr Hoot who only became a Clowndoctor last September. She is already becoming a firm favourite with children on the wards and she is hoping someone will adopt her very soon.
Scott is one of the many volunteer radio presenters who do a wonderful job in hospital radio and keep spirits up when times are tough.
Crosshouse Hospital Radio is provided by Hospital Broadcasting Service Ayrshire and is volunteer run and provides entertainment 24 hours a day for the patients and staff of Crosshouse Hospital Kilmarnock. The station provides live broadcasts as much as possible between 8am and 10pm, with nighttime shows being pre-recorded.
