Hearts & Minds is delighted that The Morrison’s Foundation has awarded a grant of £12,420 to our Clowndoctor Programme ‘Special Branch’ that works with children with special needs in Edinburgh and West Lothian.
This grant will enable us to run our programme in three units offering residential respite care in Edinburgh and West Lothian. Barnardo’s Caern provides short residential respite breaks for disabled children with special needs. Calareidh in Edinburgh and Sunndach in Livingston are NHS residential respite units. We will build meaningful and lasting relationships with over 200 vulnerable children, improving their quality of life; bringing them laughter, and fun through the power of play.
Pip Quinn, Fundraising Officer at Hearts & Minds said: We are overwhelmed with the support from The Morrison’s Foundation who make such a big difference to our local community by improving lives. To see the children’s faces light up when the Clowndoctor’s visit is very special and gives families the opportunity to share in the laughter and joy, which means the world to them.
