Sophia’s Christmas Gift: A Special Drawing for the Clowndoctor’s Christmas Card

Sophia’s Christmas Gift: A Special Drawing for the Clowndoctor’s Christmas Card

The Clowndoctors have visited a young boy called Alex for quite a while, both in hospital and at Rachel House Hospice, (CHAS).  He absolutely loves the Clowndoctors and has quite a few favourites!

When the Clowndoctors visit Alex, they quite often also meet his sister Sophia, and she loves joining in with the fun. In fact, their Mum tells us what the Clowndoctor visits mean to all the family.

“The Clowndoctors are truly amazing at bringing light and laughter into some of the hardest moments for our family. When Alex is in hospital or in hospice, they have a wonderful way of lifting his spirits – making him smile, laugh, and forget his worries, even for just a while. Their kindness and humour reach beyond him too, brightening the whole room and lifting us all up as a family. We’re so grateful for the joy and comfort they bring when we need it most.”

We are delighted when Alex’s Mum shares photos of visits and Sophia loves to draw the Clowndoctors and last year she did a special drawing for us for our sponsors Bilderlings Bank.

This year we asked Sophia if she would do the illustration for our Clowndoctor Christmas card, and she said yes! She drew all of Alex’s favourite Clowndoctors that he sees regularly, and she has given them a bit of a Christmas makeover.

She certainly has talent, and we think she will be on Portrait Artist of the Year one day!

These colourful cards will be winging their way to all the wonderful staff we work with in hospitals, hospices and ASN schools. They will also go to all our amazing funders of the Clowndoctor Programme.

We have a few extra cards available and if you would be interested in buying a pack of 5 cards for £5 donation including postage please email us at info@heartsminds.org.uk

Thank you, Sophia, – you are a star!
